Crude Steel

Crude Steel is a term in metallurgy used internationally to mean the 1st solid steel product upon solidification of liquid steel. In other words, it includes Ingots (in conventional mills) and Semis (in modern mills with continuous casting facility).

According to International Iron & Steel Institute (IISI), for statistical purpose, crude steel also includes liquid steel which goes into production of steel castings.
