Dattatreya
Dattatreya, the patron of Kartvirya, was a sage. He was a son of another great sage Atri by his wife Ansuya. In Hindu mythology, Dattatreya is considered one of the twenty-four incarnations of Vishnu. He had cursed Ravan when the later stole his water-pot from his hermitage that his head would be trampled upon by monkeys.
