Dean Gooderham Acheson

Dean Gooderham Acheson (1893-1971) was a US statesman known for his advocacy for international control of nuclear power and implementation of the Marshall Plan and the Truman Doctrine.

He was secretary of state during 1949-53. He was also instrumental in the formation of NATO.
