Dehydrocholesterol

Dehydrocholesterol, in biochemistry, is a derivative of cholesterol present in the skin. It is converted by untraviolet radiation to Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol). A particular isomer is 7-dehydrocholesterol which is involved in cholecalciferol formation.
