Designated Substance

Designated substance is a term in healthcare for a biological, chemical, or physical agent specified as a designated substance by a regulation made under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Designated substances are substances that are known to be particularly hazardous. The use of a designated substance in the workplace may either be not allowed or strictly controlled by law.
