Dhanuryagya

Dhenuryagya is a religious performance in Hindu mythology. Such a yagya is mentioned in the Ramayan. During Sita's Svayamvar, her foster father king Janak of Mithila is said to have performed a Dhanuryagaya. It was a kind of worship of the bow, which was broken by Ram. The bow was a sacred bow because it originally belonged to Shiv.
