There was another Dhaumya who was a priest. He was the younger brother of the sage Deval. Dhaumya told Yuddhishtir the eledest of the Pandav prince the importance of the places of pilgrimage. At that time the Pandav prince Arjun was in the abode of Indra the king of gods to acquire celestial weapons. Dhaumya became the family priest of the Pandavas on the advice of the Gandharva Chitrarath, and stayed with the Padavas for twelve years while they were in exile.
