Diagoras

Diagoras was a Greek philosopher, born in Melos, one of the Cyclades, 5th century BC., surnamed the Atheist, on account of the scorn with which he treated the gods of the popular faith, from the rage of whose devotees he was obliged to seek safety by flight. He died in Corinth.
