Diane Arbus

Diane Arbus (1923-1971) was a famous photographer of the United States. She is famous for documentary photographs, especially of subjects such as circus freaks, twins, and midgets. She is best known for disturbing images of people in her photographs, especially the poor or unusual on city streets. Her works are marked by a stark style, irony, and psychological effect. She Received Guggentheim Fellowship (1963, 1966). She committed suicide in 1971.
