Dindori

Dindori is a district in the State of Madhya Pradesh in India. It is located at 81.34 degree longitude and 21.16 degree latitude. The district is bounded by Shahdol in the east, Mandla in the west, Umaria in the north, and Bilaspur district of Chattisgarh State in the south.

The area of the district is 6128 Sq. Km . As per census 2001, the population of the district was 5,79,312.

The district is covered in seven block namely Dindori, Shahpura, Mehandwani, Amarpur, Bajag, Karanjiya & Samnapur. There are 927 villages out of which 899 are populated

History

The district was created on 25th May, 1998.
