Dokra

Dokra is a metal craft. It is tribal in origin and is common to the tribal belts of Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Bengal and Andhra Pradesh, the states of India.

What makes Dokra unique is that no two pieces are alike mainly because these objects are made by hand. Each and every Dokra piece has an individualistic touch.

Primarily made from brass scrap, the objects also have a core of clay preserved within the metal casting, unlike other metal works. Figurines, horses, drummers, peculiarly shaped spoons and hauntingly original tribal Gods can be found in Dokra.
