!Dugong Dugong, also known as sea cow, is the state animal of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a Union Territory of India. It is an endangered marine mammal. It is only strictly marine mammal, which is herbivorous. It mainly feeds on sea-grass and other aquatic vegetation. It is found in shallow tropical waters in Indo-Pacific Region. This marine animal when grown up is about three-metre length and weighs about 400 kg. In India Dugong is reported from Gulf of Kutch, Gulf of Mannar and Palk Bay and Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
