Dwight Lyman Moody

Dwight Lyman Moody (1837-1899), also D L Moody in short, was a US evangelist and publisher, born in Massachusetts. He was settled in Chicago, where he began his career as an evangelist, associated with Mr. Sankey. He visited great Britain in 1873 and 1883, and produced a wide-spread impression, especially on the first visit. He founded the Moody Church, Northfield School and Mount Hermon School in Massachusetts, Moody Bible Institute, and Moody Publishers.
