East Delhi

East Delhi is a district in the Union Territory of Delhi in India. The district is bounded in the north by North East District, in the east by Uttar Pradesh, and in the west by South District, New Delhi District, Central Delhi District, and North Delhi District.

There are three tahsils in the district - Vivek Vihar Tahsil, Preet Vihar Tahsil, and Gandhi Nagar Tahsil.

The headquarters of the Vivek Vihar and Gandhi Nagar Tahsils are located in Preet Vihar Tahsil. The district headquarters is also the headquarters of all its tahsils.

The total area of the district is 63 sq km. The populations as per census 2011 is 1,709,346. There is only one statutory town in the district while number of census towns are 7. There is only one village in the district.
