Ecclefechan

Ecclefechan is a market-town in Dumfries and Galloway in south of Scotland, in the of historic county of Dumfriesshire, consisting for the most part of the High Street, 5 miles south of Lockerbie, on the main road to Carlisle, 16 miles to the south. It is noted as the birth and burial place of Thomas Carlyle, the famous English historian.
