En échelon

En échelon is a geological term that refers to a kind of rock formation. In such a linear rock formation, they seem to be approximately parallel in particular direction. However, they are really at an oblique angle. They appear as sets of such formations on the surface of the rock. They are caused by tension, but later filled by precipitations of certain other minerals.
