Ernest Bloch
Ernest Bloch (1880 — 1959) was a US composer. He was born in Switzerland, and was recognized in his native Switzerland as a child prodigy on the violin by the age of six. His notable works included 'Israel Symphony' (1912 — 16) and Solomon (1916). He was influenced by the late 19th-century romanticism of Franz Liszt and Richard Strauss and of Jewish musical forms, which is reflected in his works.
