Eugene de Beauharnais

Eugene de Beauharnais (1781-1824), full name Eugène Rose de Beauharnais, was a French nobleman, statesman, and military commander, son of Viscount Alexandre de Beauharnais and Joséphine Tascher de la Pagerie, born at Paris, step-son of Napoleon, therefore was made viceroy of Italy. He took an active part in the wars of the empire. He died at Münich, whither he retired after the fall of Napoleon.
