Evreux

Evreuz is a city in France, the capital of the department of Eure, on the Iton, 67 miles northwest of Paris. It is an elegant city. It has a fine 11th-century cathedral, an episcopal palace with an old clock tower. Interesting ruins have been excavated in the old town. The city is the seat of a bishop. Known to have been manufacturing paper, cotton, and linen, and a trade is carried on in cereals, timber, and liqueurs.
