Fra Bartolommeo

Fra Bartolommeo (1469-1517), born Baccio della Porta, was an Italian painter, a celebrated Florentine painter of sacred subjects, born at Florence. He was a Dominican friar, worked chiefly in Florence, was an adherent of Savonarola, and friend of Raphael. Apart from his notable works "The Vision of St Bernard" (1507) and "The Mystic Marriage of St Catherine" (1511), "St. Mark" and "St. Sebastian" were among his best productions.
