Francis Egerton

Francis Egerton (1800-1857), Earl of Ellesmere, was a British statesman and author, born in London, second son of the Duke of Sutherland. He was Secretary for Ireland and War Secretary. He was also author of some books of travel, and a translation of "Faust".
