Francois du Valier
Francois du Valier (1907-1971), also Papa Doc, was a Haitian politician, an absolute dictator. He was earlier trained in the field of medicine and held various position in the department of health including minister of health. He opposed government after 1950 military coup and elected president by a landslide victory in 1957. He had a secret police, the Tonton Macoutes, for which he was famed and feared.
