Franz Delitzsch

Franz Delitzsch (1813-1899) was a learned biblical scholar and exegete, born at Leipzig. His commentaries, which are numerous, were of a conservative tendency. He wrote on Jewish antiquities, biblical psychology, and Christian apologetics.

He was professor at Erlangen and Leipzig successively, where his influence on the students was distinctly marked.
