FRIEDRICH JULIUS STAHL (1802-1861), writer of jurisprudence, born at Münich, of Jewish parents; embraced Christianity; wrote "The Philosophy of Law"; became professor thereof at Berlin; was a staunch Lutheran, and a Conservative in politics.
