Gallio

Gallio (c. 5 BC – c. AD 65), full name Lucius Junius Gallio Annaeanus, the Roman proconsul of Achaia in the days of St. Paul the Apostle in Corinth, before whom the Jews of Corinth brought an appeal against the latter, but which he treated with careless indifference as no affair of his, in consequence of which his name has become the synonym of an easy-going ruler or prince. He was is best known for dismissing the accusation against Paul. He was brother of the famous writer Seneca.
