Gandhi Hill

Gandhi Hill is in Vijayawada town of Krishna district of the State of Andhra Pradesh in India. It is known for the first Gandhi memorial with seven stupas in the country. The memorial was inaugurated on October 1968 by the then President of India Dr. Zakir Hussain to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation. He unveiled 52 feet stupa on that occasion.

There are seven stupas, one of them is known as High Gandhi Stupa, which stands at a height of 500 feet. It has inscriptions of Mahatma Gandhi's teachings, just like all the other stupas on the hill.

There is also a Gandhi Memorial Library and planetarium. A sound and light show is held at the hillock.
