Gehenna

Gehenna, is a term used in the Bible, for the valley of Hinnom. The term in Hebrew was ge-hinnom which was transliterated in Greek as Gehenna. This valley lies on the South of Jerusalem, with Tophet at its eastern end. It became the symbol of hell from the fires kept burning in it night and day to consume the poisonous gases of the offal accumulated in it.
