GEORGE AUGUSTUS SELWYN

GEORGE AUGUSTUS SELWYN (1809-1878), the first bishop of New Zealand, in which capacity he wrought so zealously, that his diocese, by his extension of Episcopacy, was subdivided into seven; on his return to England he was made bishop of Lichfield.
