Gérard de Nerval

Gérard de Nerval (1808 - 1855), given name Gerard Labrunie, was a French writer, poet, and translator. He was a major figure of French romanticism, best known for his novellas and poems, especially the collection "Les Filles du feu", which included the novella Sylvie and the poem "El Desdichado".
