Gertrude Stein

Gertrude Stein (1874-1946) was a US writer, novelist, poet, playwright, and art collector who made France her home in 1903 for the remainder of her life. She applied theories of abstract art to writing, and is best known for her works - The Autobiography of Alice B Toklas and The World Is Round.
