GOLCONDA

GOLCONDA, a fortified town in Andhra Pradesh in India. It was formerly part of the Nizam's dominions situated 7 m. W. of
Hyderabad; famous for its diamonds, found in the neighbourhood; beside it are the ruins of the ancient city, the former capital of the old kingdom.
