Golda Meir

Golda Meir (1898-1978) was first female Israeli prime minister who was immigrated to Palestine from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was involved in the beginning in work for the Histdarut (Federation of Labour) and fought for state of Israel. Eventually became minister of labour during 1949-56, minister of foreign affairs during 1956-66, and prime minister during 1969-74.
