Gulf of Aden

The Gulf of Aden is a gulf of the eastern Arabian sea located between the southern coast of Yemen and the Horn of Africa. It derives its name from the port city Aden. In the northwest, it connects with the Red Sea through the Bab-el-Mandeb strait, which is about 20 miles wide.

It serves as an important waterways in the Suez canal shipping route between the Mediterranean Sea and the Arabian Sea in the Indian Ocean. It plays an important role in the world economy.
