Gummosis
Gummosis is a technical term used in forestry for:(a) In wood anatomy, partial or complete destruction of cells, the resulting mass being transformed into gum which occludes the newly-formed cavity and occasionally the cells adjacent to it.
(b) In forest pathology, a disease process in hardwood trees, characterized by gum exudation.
