Habib Ibn Ali Bourguiba

Habib Ibn Ali Bourguiba (1903–2000) was a Tunisian politician and nationalist. He became first prime minister of Tunisia; president (1957); president for life (1975); faced growing opposition from Muslim fundamentalists; deposed by his prime minister in 1987.
