Han Yu

Han Yu (768-824) was a Chinese poet and Confucian thinker who worked as official during later strife filled years of Tang dynasty. He was leader of Ku wen (Gu wen), the old prose movement in literature that sought to move away from ornate prose and return to simple and direct style of writing.

Wisdom & Quotes

  • Qi is like water, and words are like objects floating on the water. When qi is at its fullness, both the amplitude and the sound of the sentences reach a perfect pitch.
