Haripada Dey was a revolutionary freedom fighter of India. Born 24.10.1905 at Bhola, Barisal, Bangladesh , s/o Late Rajendra Kishore Dey. Was a Engineering diploma holder. Was an expert in making 'mills' type bomb, bomb thower and small arms ammunition. Arrested in May 1933, escaped from Alipore Central jail in July 1934. Arrested and sentenced to 2 years prison term for escaping from jail. Got seven years prison term in the Inter provincial case and another one year for violating jail discipline in Midnapore Central jail. Deported to Andamans. Took part in second hunger strike. Repatriated in 1938, January. Took part in another hunger strike in 1939, July 36 days. Released in 1944 but detained on the spot under D.I.R. Finally released in 1946. Total jail period twelve years.
