Heracles

Heracles, i. e. the chosen of Hera, the Greek Goddess, and to be tried by her. In Greek mythology, Heracles was the son of Zeus and Alcmene (Amphitryon), grand daughter of Perseus. Hercules is the Roman equivalent, son of Jupiter and the mortal Alcmena.
