Hindutva or Cultural Nationalism presents the BJP's conception of Indian nationhood. According to the BJP's philosophical stand, this Hindutva is a nationalist, and not a religious or theocratic, concept. However, this political party has always been criticised by its detractors for adopting, for all practical purposes, the religious or theocratic point of view. It may be mentioned here that the BJP has not categorically expained Hindutva.
