Husepur
Husepur is a village in Gopalganj district of Bihar in India. This village is known for its historical importance because it was previously the seat of the Maharajas of Hathwa. It is situated on the western bank of the Jharni River about 24 km northwest of Gopalganj town. The fort erected by the kings of Hathwa is in ruins. It is built of bricks with a moat around almost filled up at present. To the east of the fort are fourteen small mounds marking the spot where the wife of Basant Sahi, a member of the family, with her 13 hand-maids immolated herself holding the head of her deceased husband in her lap. Fateh Sahi killed Basant Sahi for helping the East India Company. The members of the Hathwa family still perform worship at the mounds.
