Hussein

Hussein (1935-1999), full name Hussein ibn Talal, also Hussein bin Talal or Al-Ḥusayn ibn Ṭalāl, was the great-grandson of Hussein ibn Ali, cousin of King Faisal II of Iraq became king of Jordan in 1953, succeeding his father, who was deposed due to mental illness. He maintained a balance between Arab nationalism and Western influence, and therefore, known for middle-of-the-path leadership.
