Iamblichus
Iamblichus (c. 242–c. 325) was a Syrian Neo-Platonic philosopher in the time of Constantine, who struggled, as it proved, in vain for the revival of Greek philosophy, in the hope of thereby stemming the advance of Christianity. He was a disciple of Porphyry of Tyre (c. 234 – c. 305), the editor of Plotinus' works.Nearby pages
