Ile du Diable

Ile du Diable, commonly known as Devil's Island, is an island off the coast of French Guiana, where Captain Dreyfus was confined. It was the penal colony of Cayenne. It remained a French penal colony for 100 years, from 1852 to 1952, and officially closed in 1953, in the Salvation Islands of French Guiana.
