Iris Murdoch

Iris Murdoch (1919-1999), in full Dame Iris Murdoch, original name in full Jean Iris Murdoch, married name Mrs. John O. Bayley, was an Irish writer, novelist, essayist and philosopher. She is known for exploring philosophic ideas in novels. Her works typically deal with nature of freedom and love, in which gothic elements are often incorporated. She is known for wit, imagination and comic inventiveness.
