Jacobo Arbenz

Jacobo Arbenz (1913-1971) was a Guatemalan politician, soldier, reformer, and politician. As president of Guatemala, he emphasized land reform. Cooperation with indigenous Communists led to his overthrow (organized by the CIA) in 1954.
