Jagatsinghpur

Jagatsinghpur is a district in the State of Orissa in India. Area of the district is 1759 Sq Km with a population 10,58,894 as per census 2001.

The district derives its name from the town of the same name which is its headquarters.

There is only one Subdivision in this district. There are 4 Tahsils, 10 Development blocks, 1291 villages (60 uninhabited) and 194 Grampanchayats.

History

The district came into existence on 1st April 1993.
