Jean Jacques Barthélemy
Jean Jacques Barthélemy (1716-1795), the Abbé, was a French historian and antiquary, born at Cassis, in Provence. He was educated by the Jesuits. He had great skill in numismatics. He wrote several archæological works, in chief, "Voyage du Jeune Anacharsis en Grèce;" long treated as an authority in the history, manners, and customs of Greece.Nearby pages
