Johann Amerbach

Johann Amerbach (c. 1450 - 1513) was a celebrated German-Swiss printer in Basel, a city in Switzerland. He gained his MA at the Sorbonne, Paris, and trained as a printer in Nuremberg and Venice. He was the first who used the Roman type instead of Gothic and Italian. He spared no expense in his art, taking, like a true workman, a pride in it.
