Johann Jacob Griesbach

Johann Jacob Griesbach (1745-1812) was a German theologian and biblical critic, born in Hesse-Darmstadt. He produced a critical revision of the text of the New Testament, the chief labour of his life, for which he visited and ransacked the various libraries of Europe.
