John L O'Sullivan

John L O'Sullivan (1813 - 1895), full name John Louis O'Sullivan, was an American journalist, columnist and editor who is known for supporting the annexation of Texas and the Oregon Country to the United States, for which he used the term "manifest destiny" in 1845.
